Unreal Engine is a game development engine made by Epic Games and was first showcased in the First-Person-Shooter (FPS) with the same name (Unreal), released in 1998. Even though the game engine was designed for making First Person Shooter games, the Engine has been used to create several other types of games, including fighting games and MMORPGs (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Games), and platformers. The software has also been adopted for many non-gaming projects. Unreal Engine's programming is done in C++, and it features a high-degree of portability and supports a wide variety of platforms. The software is present under a special license, that is, Source available commercial software with a royalty model for commercial use.
The latest version is the Unreal Engine 4, which was first released on a subscription-based model, but then in 2015, the software became freely downloadable with the source-code present in GitHub's private repository. Epic allows for the commercial use of the Engine with a royalty mode by typically asking the game developers for 5% of revenue generated by the game's sales. With the success of Fortnite, Epic waived this fee for the developers who publish their games with Epic Games Store. Later on 13 May 2020, the parent company announced that the royalties for games developed with Unreal Engine are waived off till the developer earns his first US$ 1 million in revenue, which was retroactively applied from 1 January 2020.

Trying to install the Epic Games Launcher so I can download and use Unreal Engine, asked Epic Games support about this and they redirected me here (odd since I would think that this is an issue with the launcher itself and not Unreal Engine?).
Basically, every time I try to use the launcher, it gets stuck on an updating screen and gives me a SU-MD-HSH error. https://imgur.com/oKzBaAB

Note: If the file has the above entry saying true change it to false. If you don't see the above entry at all in the file then copy and paste it into the file. Save the file. Try launching the Epic Games Launcher.'
however, there's no engine.ini file in the launcher files. https://imgur.com/t8WGPlE
Tried uninstalling and reinstalling the launcher multiple times now, and I've experienced the same exact thing every time. Please help
